Looking forward to download this app! A new story from the world of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”. Brought to you by the original publisher of the Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy – Norstedts. This is a new story that expands the universe of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series and adds a new layer to the hugely successful trilogy.

Through the eyes of a hit man with ties to “the Section” the user visits 14 sites from “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” in the hunt for Lisbeth Salander.

Have you hear that Sony is releasing “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” a day earlier than originally planned — Dec. 20 instead of Dec. 21, the company announced Tuesday. Looking forward to see Rooney Mara as Salander!

Is it December 21st yet?! The premiere of the Hollywood version of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” cannot come soon enough.

Starring Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig, directed by David Fincher, this upcoming blockbuster promises to be one of the most anticipated this holiday season.

The movie was shot in Stockholm and many fans come here to walk in the footsteps of the characters. Guided tours are available by the Stockholm City Museum, but you are welcome to explore the settings on your own.

In December last year BBC Fast Track visited Stockholm and I had the pleasure of keeping them company.

Follow along in Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander’s footsteps while getting additional background information about the characters and the author. The walk starts at Bellmangatan 1, where Mikael Blomkvist lives, then passes the Millennium editorial office, Lisbeth Salander’s luxury apartment and many other locations mentioned in the books and films.

BBC in Stockholm!

Right now BBC Fast Track is filming in Stockholm. I had the pleasure of keeping them company all day. Stockholm was beautiful dressed in white as you can see. Almost like a fairytale. We mostly walked in the footsteps of Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist and met some people who actually knew Stieg Larsson, the late author of the Millennium Trilogy.

Here we are at Bellmansgatan 1. This is where Mikael Blomkvist lives in an attic apartment with a view of the water and Old Town (Gamla stan). In the books, the entrance of the building is at street level. In reality, the entrance to Bellmansgatan 1 is from the walkway over the street.

Rooney Mara to play Lisbeth Salander in Hollywood remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig have been cast in the lead roles of Columbia Pictures’ three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy under the direction of David Fincher.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo – the first film of the series, which also includes The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest – begins shooting next month here in Sweden. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is set for worldwide release December 21, 2011.

Noomi Rapace wowed audiences with her performance as Lisbeth Salander, and these are huge shoes for Mara to fill. Think she can do it? Share your thoughts!

Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy

The Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s Millennium thriller trilogy has become a huge success. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest have sold millions of copies worldwide and have been made into films and TV series. Since then, masses of Stieg Larsson fans have been making their way to Stockholm to see the settings where the stories take place.

The Millennium trilogy revolves around the investigating journalist Mikael Blomkvist and computer-hacker Lisbeth Salander. The main characters live and work in the island of Södermalm in Stockholm and there is a great interest in experiencing the atmosphere on location. Read more about guided Millennium tours>>

The Hollywood-version of the Millennium trilogy will be filmed on set in Stockholm, Sweden in October 2010, according to Swedish television, SVT. Director is David Fincher (Benjamin Button and Panic Room), but it has not yet been announced who will play the roles of Mikael Blomqvist and Lisbeth Salander. Until then, do not miss the brilliant Swedish film!
