Melodifestivalen 2011: The Final and the Worlds Biggest Schlager After Party

It all culminates this Saturday. After months of anticipation and weeks of shows, the grand finale of Melodifestivalen 2011 takes place in Stockholm on Saturday night.

If you are one of the hundreds of international fans coming to Stockholm this weekend for Melodifestivalen, then you’ll no doubt want to know which artists you’ll be able to catch in the gay clubs.

If you want to continue the party after the big Melodifestivalen finale there are at least three clubs to go to:

“The Worlds Biggest Schlager After Party” is held at lavish Operaterrassen in the Royal Opera House. Schlager queen Charlotte Perelli, winner of the ESC 1999, will be there as well as this year’s Linda Pritchard, Linda Sundblad and multi talented athlete/Mr. Gay Sweden/singer Simon Forsberg.

Mega Mello Party; paradise; kolingsborg; gay stockholm;

Popular Kolingsborg at Slussen will throw a ‘Mega Mello Party’ and be open for partying through the night with guests such as Dilba, Jenny Silver, Anniela and LeKid – all of them participants in this year’s festival, of course. Note that Melodifestivalen itself will be broadcast on big screens in the Kolingsborg panorama bar.

Zipper, the happening gay club  just off Stureplan, will as always fill its three dancefloors with gay pop, schlager, house and RnB. Schlager devotee DJ Edward af Sillén will be playing the best from this years “Mello” as well as other gay pop tunes that will most certainly make your night magical.

Mr Gay Sweden competing for the Swedish spot in the Eurovision Song Contest

Tonight the third semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2011 takes place. We will see eight performances on the Melodifestivalen stage battling it out for the chance to qualify to the final at Globen, in Stockholm. The winner will represent Sweden at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Mr Gay Sweden goes Schlager!

Mr Gay Sweden; Gay Stockholm

The Swedish broadcaster SVT has revealed the names of some of the composers and the artists competing in Melodifestivalen 2011. The winner will represent Sweden at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf, Germany.

In total there will be 32 acts competing in February and March. Amongst the big names announced are 2008 televote winner, Sanna Nielsen and 2009 finalist, Danny from EMD.

One of the debutants for Melodifestivalen is Simon Forsberg. He shares his interest in music with athletics. He participated in TV show Fame Factory and won the title Mr Gay Sweden this summer! Simon will sing Tid att andas written by Fredrik Kempe.
