A lesbian truck driver is @Sweden

We love Sweden´s official Twitter account! Right now it’s being handed over to Swedish guest writers. The project, Curators of Sweden, involves several people describing the width and variations of Swedish life and ideas.

This week the @sweden account is in the hands of Hanna Fange, a lesbian truck driver. Follow her for a week at @sweden

“As a child, I dreamt of becoming a truck driver. Of course I had other dreams as well, like to one day being able to fly, or marrying Modesty Blaise. One out of three completed, that isn’t too bad. Apart from being a truck driver, I’m a girlfriend, a sister, and a feminist. I wish I could say that my life is really interesting and adventurous, but really, it isn’t. When I’m not working (which I do quite a lot), I … eh … OK, my life is work, my girlfriend, and – when there is spare time – friends. I enjoy life to the fullest, living my dream (’cause frankly, my girlfriend is much hotter than Modesty, not to mention the fact that she is real).

Usually I go by @lastbilslesbian on Twitter, but for one week I’ll be @Sweden. How cool is that?”

We think it’s supercool!

Stockholm’s Pride and Beauty

Stockholm Pride Festival

Read this beautiful article on Stockholm. Written by Mark Thompson, Style & Travel Editor for EDGE.

“Beauty has been, for years, synonymous with Sweden. After all, this is the country that conquered the world with their Nordic models, clothed the globe in H&M fashions, furnished our homes in Ikea – and drowned the world in Absolut. In other words, Swedish beauty conquers all.

Stockholm, one of the world’s most beautiful capitals, is often considered the “Venice of the North” – and to find yourself in the Swedish capital in the midst of Stockholm Pride, the largest LGBT Pride festival in Scandinavia, is to be nearly dumbfounded by the simultaneous visual beauty of both citizenry and city.”

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! If you’re in Stockholm today I recommend you to spend the evening at one of my favorite restaurants in Stockholm called Momma. The atmosphere at the lesbian owned restaurant and bar is relaxed and cozy. They offer hearty, moderately priced food that the staff describes as “rustic elegance”. Special Valentine’s Day menu tonight!

For Valentine’s Day 2012 check out the blog post from February 14 2012>>

Momma & Roxy goes nightclub

Momma; Roxy; Lesbian Stockholm; Lesbian Club

Momma & Roxy goes nightclub. Are you planning to go to Stockholm on December 11th? If you’re a girl you really shouldn’t miss one of the biggest parties this year!

Lesbian owned Momma and Roxy are two of the best restaurants and bars Stockholm has to offer. Both of them located in SoFo, the more bohemian part of Södermalm, referring to its location south of Folkungagatan street. Crowded with girls flirting over beers on the weekend.
