“At Clarion Hotel Stockholm we love art so much that from the 8th of June 2012, artists can pay for their hotel stay with art. It’s all really very simple: An artwork – a room – one night.” How great is that?!

The tradition to let artists pay with art at hotels and restaurants has headed in the direction of extinction. A couple of months ago, the Chelsea Hotel closed and here in Sweden it hasn’t even been possible to pay with art. Ever.

“My dad was one of the artists who in the 70’s paid for his hotel room in New York – with art. To see my dad’s pieces hang next to famous artists at the Chelsea Hotel really made an impact on me. Now that the historic Chelsea Hotel has closed for an unknown period of time I thought it was obvious that we at Clarion Hotel Stockholm should do something about this. After all, we are already a significant art hotel.” Marcus Majewski, General Manager, Clarion Hotel Stockholm.

Thursday= Girlsʼ Night. Psycho Vixens A Go-Go djset at 19.00. Jana Boujon at 21.00.

Friday= Boysʼ Night. Gustav Bendt & Payman dj-set. Kristian Anttila concert at 21.00.

Saturday= Stockholm Gay Life c/o Familjen Andersson c/o Bistro Berns party!

Sunday= Lazy Sunday. Familjen Andersson cures your hangover.

Anton Hysén a soccer hero

The hottest and most good-looking Swedish gay star this year must be Anton Hysén. The 20 year old football player came out as gay to the Swedish football magazine Offside in March 2011. This became a worldwide sensation. Even BBC covered it on their news.

This coming Saturday Anton will host the Clean party at Kolingsborg, one of the most famous gay clubs in Stockholm. The Clean parties are famous for their extravagant themes, top performers and the good-looking party crowd.

We called up the hottie Anton and asked him about why you should come and visit Stockholm. “Swedish people are open and friendly, you can be yourself without being judged, and I’m also proud that Sweden is such a clean country.

When I go to clubs I like Kolingsborg, where the Clean party is held, and I also like the gay club number 2 at Berns.”
